Albany Police

ALBANY - Garrett W. Smart, 19, Mineral Point, was arrested Saturday, June 22, on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), underage drinking, unreasonable and imprudent speeding, driving with a revoked license, disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer.

• Kevin B. Wiskia, 24, Janesville, was cited for outside consumption of alcohol on Wednesday, June 19.

• Samantha N. Richards, 23, Beloit, was cited for outside consumption of alcohol on Saturday, June 22.

• April L. Triplett, 34, Beloit, was cited for outside consumption of alcohol on Saturday, June 22.

• Trevor R. Goebel, 20, Mineral Point, was cited for underage drinking and obstructing an officer on Saturday, June 22.

• Paige Phyllis Sue Hohlstein, 18, Livingston, was cited for underage drinking on Saturday, June 22.

• Wesley R. Oren, 19, Cottage Grove, was cited for disorderly conduct and underage drinking on Sunday, June 23.

• Johrdin J. Hanson, 20, Cottage Grove, was cited for underage drinking on Sunday, June 23.

• Rachel M. Marino, 20, Cottage Grove, was cited for underage drinking on Sunday, June 23.

• Rebecca E. Swearingen, 19, Madison, was cited for underage drinking on Sunday, June 23.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Mark A. Lang, 26, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of violating a temporary restraining order at 12:19 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in the 1800 block of 7th Street. He posted the required cash bond and was released with a court date.

• Andy J. Markham, 37, Juda, was arrested in Beloit on charges of theft and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, after police investigated the theft of a car at 5:57 p.m. Saturday, June 22, from outside the Monroe Northsider, 180 N. 18th Ave. Markham reportedly jumped into a 2005 Dodge Neon while the owner was paying for gas inside the station. The keys were left in the car. It was later found abandoned on County F near Brodhead. Markham faces four misdemeanor charges in Green County Circuit Court related to the incident, including disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer. His signature bond is set at $3,000 with the conditions that he not drink or consume any controlled substances. His next court date is Aug. 6.

• Dennis S. Bates, 51, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct after police were called at 4:43 p.m. Sunday, June 23, to the Swiss Wheel Rooming House, 1100 30th St., for a complaint that Bates was intoxicated and pounding on doors, asking other residents to take him to get more alcohol. Bates has been warned several times and cited once previously for similar behavior. He was jailed. He pleaded not guilty to the charges the following day in Green County Circuit Court. His signature bond is set at $500 with the condition that he not drink. His next court date is Aug. 6.

• Ashley J. Kollatz, 17, Monroe, was cited for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a parent reported finding a suspicious substance in her room at 9:44 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at a residence in the 800 block of 24th Street.

On Thursday, June 20:

• Police responded at 8:36 a.m. to a property maintenance complaint in the 500 block of 19th Avenue. The residents told police they are moving by the end of the month.

• A resident in the 1400 block of 14th Street reported at 9 a.m. that his ex-wife is violating a restraining order by driving past his home. Police deemed the complaint unfounded since the restraining order expired and was dismissed at the end of May.

• At 11:34 a.m., a bank bag and its contents was reported lost somewhere in Monroe.

• A possible restraining order violation was reported by a third party at 12:34 p.m. in the 500 block of 21st Street. Police deemed it unfounded.

• A 15-year-old boy was warned at 1:02 p.m. for skateboarding in the 400 block of 14th Avenue.

• A break-in to an apartment in the 2400 block of 4th Street was reported at 5:23 p.m. by tenants returning home after some time away. Someone gained entry, causing damage to the door. The only item reported missing was cash from a locked vehicle outside belonging to the tenants. Police have leads.

On Friday, June 21:

• At 11:46 a.m., staff at the Monroe campus of Blackhawk Technical College reported receiving two sexually explicit, harassing phone calls.

• A beige-colored stray cat was found at 1:42 p.m. in the 100 block of North 20th Avenue. The resident who found the cat is giving it to a friend if no one claims it.

• A neighbor complained at 3:53 p.m. of a noisy garage band practicing in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue. The band was warned.

• A 54-year-old Monroe man in the 1100 block of 21st Street was placed into protective custody at 4:51 p.m. He was incapacitated by alcohol and had called a crisis line for help, making threats involving a firearm. Staff at the crisis line called in police. No firearm was located.

• A gas drive-off of $37 was reported at 9:21 p.m. at Boco Monroe BP, 907 20th Ave.

• A Dachshund-breed dog was reported missing at 11:07 p.m. from the 200 block of 13th Street.

On Saturday, June 22:

• Police responded to a complaint at 11:40 p.m. of loud music coming from an apartment in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street.

• A woman in the 2500 block of 10th Street reported at 11:40 p.m. that she was getting annoying calls from a man trying to reach another woman. The complainant had previously lent the other woman her phone. Police advised her not to loan out her phone.

On Sunday, June 23:

• Police were called to a dispute over parking at 10:20 a.m. in the 1200 block of 10th Avenue.

• An e-reader that fell off a vehicle in the area of 8th Avenue and 29th Street was found and brought at 11:23 a.m. to the police station, where it can be claimed.

• The theft of a stop sign from the intersection of 14th Avenue and 17th Street was reported at 12:47 p.m.

• A third party in another state reported at 1:06 p.m. that a Monroe woman was suffering verbal abuse from her husband. The husband had left by the time police arrived at the residence. Police referred the wife to resources for help, should she need it.

• A white cat with a lion cut was reported missing from its home in the 1900 block of 10th Street at 7:06 p.m. It had escaped.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Gary D. Harris, 63, New Glarus, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after police stopped him for an equipment violation in the 1000 block of 2nd Street at 1:54 a.m. Thursday, June 20. He was also cited for driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration, an expired registration and a defective license plate lamp.

• Scott A. Schenk, 36, Brooklyn, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance and for a seatbelt violation at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69.

• Dakotah S. Worden, 22, Monroe, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance and for a seatbelt violation at 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Jeremy F. Nelson, 18, New Glarus, was cited for driving with a suspended license and for a seatbelt violation at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

• Kurt F. Ellison, 25, Wausau, was cited for speeding in the 1200 block of Wis. 69 at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, June 19.

• Kim J. Sunde, 26, Madison, was cited for driving with a suspended license and without vehicle insurance at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, June 23, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• A black Labrador dog running loose in the 800 block of 2nd Street was reported at 9:02 a.m. Wednesday, June 19. The dog was later located and the Green County Humane Society contacted. It was taken to the shelter.

• A theft was reported in the 400 block of 2nd Street at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19.

• The driver of a Chevy Corvette was warned for his behavior after police took a complaint of reckless driving at 1:03 p.m. Thursday, June 20.

• Police assisted in a civil issue at 4:51 p.m. Thursday, June 20, and stayed on scene to keep the peace as both parties worked out the situation.

• The theft of a license plate off a vehicle was reported at 6:12 p.m. Friday, June 21.

• Police responded to a dog whining complaint at 9:15 p.m. Friday, June 21. The owner was warned.

• Police responded to the 200 block of 8th Avenue at 9:06 a.m. Saturday, June 22, for a report that the road had caved in several locations. The New Glarus Public Works Department came to put barricades up around the area.

• Fraud related to a Speedy Cash loan was reported at 6:49 p.m. Saturday, June 22.

• A dog owner was warned after police responded to a complaint at 6:33 p.m. Sunday, June 23, of a dog constantly barking.

• A child out-of-control at home was reported at 10:34 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The matter was referred to Juvenile Intake for a requested charge of disorderly conduct.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Sunday, June 23:

• Two people were cited for traffic offenses after deputies, the Brodhead Fire Department and Brodhead EMS responded to a crashed vehicle submerged upside down in water off Town Center Road at County T in Spring Grove Township. Investigation later revealed that Evan J. Murphy, 31, Durand, was southbound on County T when the vehicle veered onto the west shoulder and he lost control. The vehicle continued southbound in the ditch until it collided with the shoulder of Town Center Road. It became airborne across Town Center Road before landing in the south ditch, upside down, in about five feet of water. Murphy was later located at his residence in Durand by Winnebago County Sheriff's deputies. He had sustained injuries in the crash. He is cited for failure to maintain control, driving with a revoked license and failing to notify police of a crash. He fled the scene of the crash with the assistance of a ride from Donna Murphy, 61, Davis. She is cited for knowingly assisting a person to flee from an accident scene. The vehicle was very severely damaged and towed.

• Casey E. Solace, 29, Lena, was cited for possessing marijuana (25 grams or less) and drug paraphernalia after DNR wardens alerted deputies at 12:43 p.m. to drug usage near the Pecatonica River on West River Road near Martintown Road in Cadiz Township.

• Kyle H. Russell, 20, Cottage Grove, and Dalton J. Sommers, 20, Monona, were cited for underage drinking after deputies were requested at 5:47 p.m. to assist Albany police with a trespassing complaint in the 200 block of South Water Street in Albany.

• Deputies responded to a tree vs. vehicle crash at 10:31 a.m. in the N3800 block of Park Road in Decatur Township. The driver fled the scene. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was impounded. The crash remains under investigation.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Sarah B. Bourland, 40, Hazel Green, was arrested on a charge of battery after deputies responded at 9:24 p.m. Saturday, June 22, to a complaint of a disturbance between several people at Lake Joy Campground in Belmont Township. She was later released pending court.

• Gerald A. McKibben, 23, Argyle, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after deputies responded to a 911 call from a residence on Breeze Terrace in Argyle at 12:58 a.m. Sunday, June 23. The residents reported a man was banging on the home's doors and windows, trying to get in. He fled the area before deputies arrived. McKibben was later identified and arrested, then released pending court.

• Matthew A. Edge, 33, Benton, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct following a disturbance at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, June 23, at a residence on 1st Street in Benton. He later posted bond and was released pending court.

• Tracey M. Zsido, 41, Argyle, was arrested on a charge of domestic disorderly conduct following a disturbance at a residence on North Broad Street in Argyle at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, June 23. She was jailed.

• Justin R. Starr, 34, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct following a report of a disturbance at a residence on County I in New Diggings Township at 7:42 p.m. Sunday, June 23. He later posted bond and was released pending court.

• Tyson F. Dietzel, 28, Platteville, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance on County B in Belmont Township at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• Justin L. Johnson, 27, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license on Roller Coaster Road at 2:34 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• Alicia M. Howard-Barkley, 28, DeKalb, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance on Wis. 81 in Seymour Township at 5:33 p.m. Saturday, June 22.

• A deputy took custody of a street sign that had been recovered in a creek on Cub Hollow Road in Gratiot Township at 7:35 p.m. Friday, June 21. The sign belongs to the City of Platteville and will be returned.

• A deputy responded to a complaint of several adults heard arguing at a residence on 1st Avenue in Benton at 8:36 p.m. Friday, June 21.

• A deputy went to County F in Fayette to check on weather conditions at 12:11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in response to a citizen report of low-hanging clouds.

• A deputy assisted Darlington police with investigating a report of harassment at a business on Christenson Drive in Darlington at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• The theft of a riding lawn mower on Lancaster Road in Lamont Township was reported at 5:49 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• An abandoned vehicle was reported on Bridge Street in Gratiot at 6:33 a.m. Saturday, June 22. Attempts to make contact with the owner were unsuccessful and the vehicle was towed.

• A deputy assisted Blanchardville police with removing an abandoned vehicle from a location on County H at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, June 22. The vehicle's owner had not removed the vehicle as requested, and it was parked in an area that was beginning to flood.

• A dog running at large on County G in Calamine was reported at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• A deputy responded to a residence on Cisserville Road in Wiota Township for a civil property dispute between two parties at 10:53 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

• The theft of yard ornaments from a residence on Galena Street in Benton was reported at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, June 22.

• A deputy investigated a complaint of possible child abuse that occurred at a residence on Chestnut Street in Belmont at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, June 22.

• Deputies responded to a noise complaint at a residence on Mills Street in Argyle at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
