Green County Sheriff

MONROE -Lynne D. Amble, 47, Belleville, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle accident in the N8700 block of County O at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Amble was southbound when she saw a tree in the road. She tried to take evasive action but was unable to avoid hitting the tree. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Deputies and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash in the Town of Spring Grove at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. Austin D. Exum, 17, Brodhead, was westbound on Wisconsin 11/81 and slowing down to turn south on County OK when he was rearended by Katelyn N. Kreye, 18, Salem, when her vehicle experienced partial brake failure. Another westbound vehicle behind her, driven by Chirissa D.L. Zirbel, 18, Pleasant Prairie, served to avoid a collision but collided with the rear of Kreye's vehicle. Exum reported minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. All three vehicles were moderately damaged and driven from the scene.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Corey C. Scheidegger, 30, and Rachel M. Stibbe, 20, both of Monroe, were arrested on charges of shoplifting clothing from Shopko, 405 W. 8th St., at 2:36 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. One reportedly tried to steal clothing worth $16.98; the other clothing worth $67.96. Both were jailed on outstanding warrants issued by the Beloit Police Department for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Werner A. Sulzer, 87, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving after police responded to a minor accident with no injuries at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18. Sulzer collided with a legally parked vehicle belonging to Mike S. Paulson, 50, Monroe, in the 2000 block of 11th Avenue.

• The owner of a vehicle in the 2200 block of 16th Street reported at 10:09 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, that the rear window had been broken.

• Police were called to a dispute between an apartment manager and a tenant in the 800 block of 6th Street at 10:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18. The tenant was upset about trespassing orders the manager had issued to acquaintances of the tenant.

• A man in the 2100 block of 4th Avenue reported at 12:56 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, that his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his children, had used the Walmart giftcards he had intended as gifts for the children.

• A resident in the 2900 block of 8th Avenue was warned to remove a parked vehicle, tires and other junk from the lawn at 2:11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.

• A mother complained at 3:29 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, that another mother grabbed at her son after their boys, ages 8 and 9, were in a dispute at a school bus stop at 10th Avenue and 10th Street. The other mother was warned.

• Tenants in an apartment building in the 1300 block of 16th Street called at 4 p.m. and again at 4:51 p.m. to lodge complaints and counter complaints against each other over loud music, banging and an unleashed dog.

• The theft of numerous small used lawnmower engines was reported at 5:31 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, from a repair shop in the 200 block of 10th 1/2 Street. The thefts had occurred sometime in the prior three days.

• A resident in the 300 block of 2nd Street reported a theft of personal checks and the forging of these checks at 12:22 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Police are investigated leads.

• A mother reported her 9-year-old son was out-of-control at 9:53 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The boy had calmed down by the time police arrived.

• Staff at Monroe Clinic's ER, 515 22nd Ave., reported a disorderly patient at 10:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. The patient had calmed down by the time police arrived.

• A gas drive-off was reported at Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St., at 7:28 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

• A bite from a pet dog was reported at 8:57 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the 2300 block of 15th Avenue.

• Police responded to a complaint of loud music at an apartment building in the 300 block of 4th Street at 10:01 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. A tenant was warned to turn it down and complied.

• Police were called to referee an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the 200 block of 4th Avenue at 11:49 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. The situation was temporarily resolved when the boyfriend left to stay with relatives for the night.

• A dog owner in the 100 block of 21st Street was warned to keep the animal on a leash after an officer on patrol saw it running loose at 7:43 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.

• A gas drive-off was reported at Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St., at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Donald E. Flannery, 74, and his passenger Patricia A. Flannery, 72, both of Argyle, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle collision with a horse on County G in the Town of Fayette at 7:18 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18. Flannery was eastbound in a 2002 Buick when he hit the horse. The horse ran off and was not located. The Buick sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Earlier that day, at 5:14 a.m., a deputy took a report of several horses running loose on County D in Lamont.

• Deputies responded to several reports late Saturday, Jan. 19, of trees down on the road and other damages caused by high winds. At 8:34 p.m., a DNR warden and Argyle police responded to a report of a fishing shanty that had blown away from where it was anchored on Yellowstone Lake. Officers determined the shanty was unoccupied when it blew away.

• A hit-and-run accident that occurred the previous night was reported at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the intersection of County G and East Mound Road in the Town of Belmont. The unknown vehicle was eastbound on County G when it hit the stop sign at the intersection and left the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with the accident investigation.

• Brandon Dallman, 20, Watertown, was cited for eighth-offense driving with a suspended license at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, following a traffic stop on Ohio Street.



Albany Police

ALBANY - Nicole M. Pember, 20, Albany, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 19, on charges of underage drinking and possession of a false ID card.

• Kyle A. Rudolph, 19, Albany, was cited Tuesday, Jan. 15, for driving with a suspended license, no proof of vehicle insurance and non-registration of a vehicle.

• Allen G. Schroeder, 44, Monroe, was cited Friday, Jan. 18, for speeding and disorderly conduct.

• Tyler J. Peterson, 18, Silver Lake, was arrested on charges of marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and speeding at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Darlington. He was later released pending court.

• Dustin J. Olson, 23, Monroe, was jailed on a probation hold issued by the Department of Corrections following a traffic stop on Wis. 11 in Gratiot at 1:17 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. He was also cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance and for unnecessary acceleration. A passenger, Bryan S. Wehe, 22, Juda, was cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle.

• Karol L. Sparks, 61, Muscatine, Iowa, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 9:56 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Seymour.

• Robert R. Wagar, 21, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 10:42 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Elk Grove.

• Ryan S. Bartell, 24, Stockton, Ill., was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 2:06 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Benton.

• Shawn P. Kelly, 21, Wheaton, Ill., was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 3:52 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Seymour.

• Kara S. Austin, 19, and Susan K. Austin, 48, both of Cuba City, were cited for seatbelt violations at 5:04 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, on County H in the Town of Elk Grove.

• Matthew K. Young, 31, Elburn, Ill., was cited for speeding at 2:31 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Wis. 23 in the Town of Darlington.

• Maureen C. Quass, 45, Whitewater, was cited for speeding at 3:19 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot.

• Curtis A. Grehn, 52, Dixon, Ill., was cited for speeding at 3:49 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot.

• Victor F. Balogun, 48, Des Plaines, Ill., was cited for speeding at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Wis. 23 in the Town of Darlington.

• Maribel Cervantes Hernandez, 25, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 10:33 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Darlington.

• A resident on County K in the Town of Darlington reported at 1:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, that she was receiving text messages from a resident of West Bend that violated a domestic abuse order.

• A dog bite was reported at a residence on Mound View Road in the Town of Belmont at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. The man who was bit sought medical treatment at Southwest Healthcare in Platteville.

• A deputy responded to a residence on Mills Street in Argyle for a noise complaint at 3:44 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.

• Numerous mailboxes and road signs on Otter Creek Road in the Town of Lamont were reported damaged at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. The vandalism occurred sometime during the previous night.

• At 1:22 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, deputies assisted Darlington police at a residence on Main Street in Darlington, where it was reported two adult siblings were involved in a disturbance.

• The theft and unauthorized use of a dealer's license plate from a Shullsburg car dealership was reported at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.

• A deputy responded to a report of a man walking on Wis. 81 in the Town of Lamont at 11:52 p.m. Due to the extremely cold temperature, the deputy gave the man a ride to the Green/Lafayette county line, where a Green County deputy then took the man to a Monroe residence.
