Olga Norder, age 101, died on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on July 12, 1910 in Albany, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Urben) Roth. She attended Winslow, Clarno, Oneco and Monticello schools. Olga and Kenneth Norder, Sr. were married on August 28, 1931 in Monroe. She worked at the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop and at J.C. Penneys in Monroe. Olga was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling and golfing throughout her life.
Olga is survived by her children; Judith (Raymond) Carter of Freeport, IL, Kenneth (Betty) Norder, Jr. and William Norder of Monroe; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband; brothers, Walter, John, William, Harold, Fred, and Robert; sisters, Clara, Gertrude, Ida, and Frieda.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at the Union Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Marilyn Sandin-Ross, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12 noon at the Church. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
