Norman "Hank" Ritschard

Norman "Hank" Ritschard, age 78, of Monroe, died on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at his home. Hank was born September 20, 1929 in Monticello, the son of Herman and Emma (Grossen) Ritschard. He married Betty Wuetrich on May 10, 1952 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. Hank farmed all his life in Green County until he and Betty moved into Monroe in 1978. He then worked as a road patrolman for Clarno Township for several years.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Monroe Moose Lodge #754. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ritschard of Monroe; four children, Sally Peters of New Glarus, Bill (Sara) Ritschard, Peggy (Keith) Riese, and Tammy (Darris) Henning, all of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Jason Anderson, Justina Peters, Brett, Tim, and Jacob Ritschard, Katie and Taylor Riese, and Trent and Kramer Henning; four brothers, Delbert Ritschard of Argyle, Raland Ritschard of Monticello, Royal (Sun Bun) Ritschard of Madison, Mike (Sandy) Ritschard of Juda; two sisters, Darlyne (Elton) Segner of Monroe and Marlys (John) Hegge of Madison; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ritschard of Monticello; and a brother-in-law, Bob Wuetrich of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Ritschard; and a sister-in-law, Leona Ritschard.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2008, at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe.
