Mary Irene Neuenschwander, age 85, of Brodhead, died on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born on November 6, 1931 in Argyle Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Gibbons) Dunlavy.
Mary graduated from Monroe High School and attended Blackhawk Technical College.
Mary and Kenneth Neuenschwander were united in marriage on November 6, 1953 St. Victor's Catholic Church.
Mary was a CNA at the Evansville Manor for 24 years. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Mercy Association of Volunteers and volunteered with Hospice in Rock County; a Den Mother for Cub Scouts; and a 4-H leader with the Evansville 4-H Club. She loved to travel, traveling most of the United States including Alaska and got to her beloved country, Ireland.
She also enjoyed the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers; the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Hockey; reading, restoring old Furniture and houses.
She is survived by her children: Rebecca (Bob) Faliveno of Mount Horeb, Lila (Kitty) Tesch of Stoughton, Tammy and Sheila Neuenschwander, both of Evansville, Tracy (Mark) Jurgella of Fond du Lac, Jennifer (Carl) Rabehl of Greendale; Richard (Linda) Neuenschwander of Brodhead, Kenneth Neuenschwander of Evansville; brothers, Robert (Betty) Dunlavy of Monroe; sister, Donna (Ray) Knutsen of Rockford, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Melissa Faliveno of Brooklyn, NY; Angie (Mike) Stafford of Arizona, Kim (Joe) Richards of Janesville, Adriane and Nicole Neuenschwander, both of Chicago, IL; Lauren Jurgella of Fond du Lac, Owen and Quinn Rabehl of Greendale, and Ryan (Natasha) Tesch of Stoughton; 3 great-grandchildren: Adam Stafford and Austin and Lucas Richards; sisters-in-law, Karen, Joyce, and Jill Dunlavy; she is further survived by many other relatives, friends, and her beloved cats, Carolina, Dakota, and Georgia.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brothers, Joe, Francis, Charles, Walter, Paul, and Donald Dunlavy.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2017 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME in Monroe, with Monsignor Larry Bakke officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in rural Argyle. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
