WINSLOW - Lloyd A. Bartelt, age 98, passed away on Monday June 3, 2013 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. He was born on September 18, 1914 in Oneco Township, Ill. to Albert and Nellie (Moser) Bartelt. He attended Pleasant Hill Country School. He married Lillian Schiesser on August 28, 1942 in Davis, IL. Lloyd farmed all his life on the family farm in rural Winslow. He enjoyed hunting small game and fishing. Lloyd enjoyed boxing and was also a boxing fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan and a Green Bay Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife Lillian of Winslow, son Duane (Linda) Bartelt of Rock City, daughter; Mary Holland of Freeport and son Robert Bartelt of Winslow, 5 grandchildren; Angela (Shane) Myers of Belvidere, Michael (Nancy) Bartelt of Rock City, Christopher Bartelt of Rockford, Steven (Jeanne) Holland of Galena, Stephanie (Todd) Edmunds of Monticello, WI; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Helen Reuber, 8 brothers Elmer, Ralph, Arthur, Charles, Harold, Raymond, Melvin and Lawrence.

Funeral services will be on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Leamon Funeral in Winslow, IL.

Visitation will be on Saturday June 8, 2013 from 11:30 until time of service.

Private family burial will be held at Basswood Cemetery, McConnell, IL.

Officiating will be Pastor Randy Nicholas.

A memorial has been established in his name.
