BRODHEAD - Llewellyn M. Hefty, age 85, of Brodhead, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009, at Wood's Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead. He was born on November 7, 1923 in Spring Grove Township, Green County, the son of Baltz and Mary (Hauser) Hefty. He married Lottie J. Yaun on March 10, 1955 in Monroe, WI.

Llewellyn lived all of this life in the Brodhead area, farmed in Spring Grove Township, and worked for 17 years for the Spring Creek Cheese Factory. He moved to Brodhead in 2000. He loved building models and enjoyed flying in airplanes.

He is survived by his wife, Lottie, Wood's Crossing, Brodhead; three sisters-in-law, Katherine Hartman, Durand, IL, Betty Yaun, Brodhead, Marie Hefty, Clinton, WI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, with Pastor Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.
