Kim Marie Scott, age 59 of Monroe, died at home on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Kim was born on March 21, 1957 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert and Joan Peterson. She was a 1975 graduate of Manson Community High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. She married Glenn Scott of Lanark, IL on October 15, 1983. Kim was employed as a teacher in Shannon, IL and later took a position at Rainbow Daycare in Monroe until retiring due to health concerns in 2009.
Kim was a wonderful mother and a devoted Christian who was always willing to make sacrifices for her family. She enjoyed teaching, gardening, and spending time with her children. She was an exceptional teacher who always influenced those around her in a positive way and was always willing to help those in need.
She will be deeply missed by her three children, Nathaniel Scott, Justin Scott, both of Monroe, and Stephanie Scott of Sun Prairie; and her two sisters-in-law, Maureen Scott and Melissa Scott. She will never be forgotten for her loving nature and strong and positive attitude.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Monroe American Legion Post #84. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be share at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
