NEW GLARUS - Kent J. Dalsing, age 47, of New Glarus passed away on June 2, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on February 7, 1966 in Dubuque, IA to his parents Cletus and Margaret (Cullen) Dalsing. Kent graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque and then continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville earning a B.S. in Accounting. Later he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Graduate School of Banking. On May 29, 1993 he was united in marriage to Jennifer Myers at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Cuba City, WI. Kent was licensed as a CPA/CIA and previously worked for as for Clifton Gunderson, Grant Thornton, and Cuna Mutual Group. Since 2006 he was the CFO and Executive Vice President at the Bank of New Glarus. Kent was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville, where he also served on the financial committee. He was an active member of the community, serving as President of the New Glarus Soccer Association and as a coach. He was also an avid Badger and Packer fan.
Kent is survived by his wife Jennifer and two sons Mitchell and Noah of New Glarus, WI. He is further survived by his parents Cletus and Margaret Dalsing of Dubuque, IA, brothers Keith (Dr. Kathryn) Dalsing and Kurt (Deborah) Dalsing both of Dodgeville, sisters Kelly (Charles) Ripley of Bettendorf, IA and Karlyn (Todd) Ollendick of Iowa City, IA, father-in-law and mother-in-law Darrell and Elizabeth Myers of Cuba City, WI, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mark (Diane) Myers of Madison, WI, Lisa (Michael) Bierman of Menasha, WI, Joseph (Emily) Myers of Cuba City, WI, and Denise (Brian) Vosberg of Madison. Kent is also survived by ten nieces, seven nephews, several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, four uncles, and three aunts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Michael Moon and Rev. Kenneth Klink officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery in New Glarus.
Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison St., Belleville, WI.
A memorial fund has been established.
