Kenneth L. DeNure, age 83, of Argyle, WI, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI. He was born December 21, 1929 in Wiota Township in Lafayette County, WI, the son of Harry and Maud (Miller) DeNure. Kenneth attended Jennings Country School in Wiota Township and would often ski to school in the winter months. He served in the United States Army from 1952 until he was honorably discharged in 1954. Kenneth was united in marriage to Ramona Melland on May 14, 1955 at East Wiota Lutheran Church in rural South Wayne, WI. They lived and farmed in Wiota Township for 31 years before retiring into the Village of Argyle in 1992.

Kenneth is survived by his wife: Ramona at home; five children: Diane (Jim) Elmer of New Glarus, WI, Daryl (Lois) DeNure of Monroe, WI, Donald DeNure of Albany, WI, Delbert (Vicky) DeNure of Argyle, and Doreen (friend Kenneth Peach) DeNure of Oregon, WI; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter: Devon Gabioud in 1993; one grandson: Bryant Gabioud in 2007; and four brothers: Harold, George, Alvin, and Robert DeNure.

Kenneth was a lifelong member of Wiota Lutheran Church and Argyle American Legion Post #251. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, bowling and especially riding his moped, all over Lafayette County and beyond.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Wiota Lutheran Church, 6682 State Road 78 in South Wayne with Rev. Luke S. Smetters officiating. Burial will be in East Wiota Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wiota Lutheran Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
