Kenneth James Flood, age 85, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 8, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on October 27, 1931 in rural Brooklyn on the family farm, the son of James and Helen (Thickpenny) Flood. He was united in marriage to Beth (Kauth) on June 2, 1956 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Evansville. They spent their lives building their farm and family. Ken loved spending time with his family, working on his farm, sowing crops, and taking care of his animals. He also enjoyed having lunch with his friends at the Edgewater Cafe and playing Blackjack at Ho Chunk Casino.

Ken is survived by his wife and his children, Roger (Lois) Flood of Yorktown, VA, Rick (Jan) Flood of Brooklyn, Kendall Flood of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren, Sarah (David) Flood Krage, Wendy (Bobby) Flood Tomlinson, Aubrey (Max) Parks, Jeremy (Heather) Flood, Brandon Flood, Matt (Pauline) Flood, Luci (Joe) Flood Koopmans, Jamie Flood, Hannah Flood; eleven great-grandchildren; sister Kay (Bill) Zurfluh; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Grace, Rose, Tom; and sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 22, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Evansville with Reverend Kevin Dooley officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Evansville. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home in Evansville. The family would like to thank the Evansville Manor nursing staff and Agrace Hospice for their care and compassion.
