Jean M. Nybroten, age 88 of Argyle, WI passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Graceland Manor in Monroe, WI. She was born February 19, 1929 in Green County, WI the daughter of Homer and Matilda (Walter) Miller, Sr. Jean was united in marriage to Gilford Nybroten on May 18, 1973 in Darlington, WI. She grew up in rural Monroe. Jean owned and operated Nybroten Care Home in Argyle and rural South Wayne, WI for over 40 years until retiring in 1993.
Jean is survived by one sister: Darlyne Klossner of Brodhead, WI; and many nieces and nephews and step-children. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gilford on August 1, 1986; one son: Gary Nybroten in infancy; eight brothers: Muriel, Bruce, Chester, Dwight, Gayle, Ransom, Homer Jr., and Paul Miller; and five sisters: Leatta Busjahn, Viola Baltzer, Sylvia Eichstadt, Pearl Rudy, and Helen Mayne.
Jean was a member of Adam's Lutheran Church in rural Argyle and attended Monroe Church of the Nazarene. She was an avid quilter, a talented baker and cook, and enjoyed making crafts. Jean was especially fond of chickens and collected anything that had a chicken on it. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Adams Lutheran Church (N7148 County Road A, rural Argyle 53504) with Rev. Jen Kuhnert officiating. Burial will be in Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
