NEW GLARUS - Jean Avis Feller, age 82, of New Glarus joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Jean was born on January 18, 1935 in Poynette, WI the daughter of John and Marjorie Hutchinson. Jean graduated from Poynette High School in 1953. On December 19, 1959 she was united in marriage to Herman Feller, Jr. at Poynette Methodist Church. Jean, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, lived a life full of love and grace. She put God first in all things and dedicated her life to her Lord, her husband, and her family. She was a member and elder of Grace Church, enjoying many responsibilities, including being a greeter, a prayer team member with her husband, and served on the Saturday morning food preparation team. Jean and Herman's marriage of 58 years was a testament of their commitment, love, and affection for each other. And together, they produced five children, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Jean was the ultimate giver of her time, energy, and patience. When with Jean, she made you feel that the time she spent with you was the most important thing she could be doing at that moment. She listened intently, completely, and with heartfelt interest to all. She found the greatest enjoyment and meaning in life through her endless acts of caring for and serving others. She was a talented cook, baker, and seamstress. So much of her love and affection shone through in her carefully prepared meals, delicious desserts, and her sharing of her craft of sewing. Jean spent countless hours supporting her children and grandchildren as they participated in various sporting events and activities, as yet one more expression of her love of family. We can honor Jean by striving to live our lives as she did...putting God and others first, loving with all your heart, listening more, and judging less.
