James L. Davis, age 65 of Green Bay, formerly of Juda area, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Aurora Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on March 17, 1946 in Monroe, the son of Harold and Alberta (Meinert) Davis. James graduated from Juda High School in 1964. James married Linda Pandow on April 20, 1968, and had two children together; he later married Christine Achterberg on May 15, 1976 in Nashua, Iowa. Jim worked at Doorman's Cheese for many years, he later owned and operated Davis Trucking and lastly was working with the cleaning department at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, he had a small hobby farm; where he enjoyed raising a few animals and having a garden.
He is survived by a daughter, Gidget (Ty) Anderson of Brodhead; a son, Joey (Beth) Davis of New Franken, WI; 6 grandchildren; two brothers: Carl (Carol) Davis of Cascade, WI and Michael (Luciana) Davis of Machesney Park, IL; a sister, Michelle Davis of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Christine.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Marlier of Jesus Our Shepherd Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakley Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be given in James's name to Lupus Foundation of Wisconsin.
