Geraldine (Hendrickson) Hanson

NEW GLARUS - Geraldine (Hendrickson) Hanson, age 96, was graciously escorted into the presence of her Lord at Ingle Living Communities in Mt. Horeb, WI surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Geraldine was born in Argyle on January 12, 1912, the daughter and Gerald and Lee Hendrickson. She was a resident of southern Wisconsin, having lived in Argyle, Rochester, Windsor and New Glarus. Geraldine was a graduate of Argyle High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. She was married to Everett N. Hanson in l936 at the Adams Lutheran Church, Argyle.

Geraldine came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ around 1940 and loved and served her Savior at Postville Bible Church and at New Glarus Baptist Bible Church. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. She also served in the Christian School at New Glarus. Though affected in her last years by Alzhiemer's disease, she loved to hear and quote the Bible and to sing Christian hymns which she never forgot.

Survivors include: a son, H. L. "Nick" (Dianne) Hanson of Sun Prairie, WI; a daughter, Sue (Dean) Walter of Latham, NY; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet Guldhaug of Mt. Horeb, WI; a sister-in-law, Alice Hendrickson of Ft. Atkinson, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hanson in l975; three sons, David, Stephen and Duane; and three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the New Glarus Baptist Bible Church, 207 6th Street, New Glarus. The Pastor Tom Schubring and Rev. Walter Olson officiating with burial in Adams Cemetery, Argyle. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the church. Gifts in memory of Mrs. Geraldine Hanson may be given to New Glarus Baptist Bible Church, New Glarus, WI.

Geraldine will be dearly missed as a beloved mother, grandmother and friend.
