Gerald J. Regal, age 46 of Monroe, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1967 in Milwaukee, WI; the son of Donald Ridgeway and Judith (Shoop) Holmberg. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1985. He served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years. He was a truck driver for most of his working life. He married Carol Nelson on August 11, 2012 in Monroe, WI.
He is survived by his wife Carol Regal of Monroe; two children, Jenna (Nick Hand) Regal of Princeton and Kyle Regal of Fort Hood, TX; a grandson, Logan Hand; his mother, Judith Holmberg of Henry, IL; 5 stepchildren: Stephanie (Kris) Jennings, of FL, Andrew (Jacklyn) Armstrong of Spring Green, WI, Miranda Day of Janesville, WI, Corey Forster of Milton, WI, and Amber Halverson of Dodgeville, WI; 8 step-grandchildren; 6 siblings: Debbie (Don) Foley of Henry, Glenda Spaulding of IN, Darren (Brenda) Holmberg of Bradford, Jennifer (Eric) Rebholz of Chilicothe, Cheryl (Doug) Hurley of Manlius and Pam Holmberg of Washington State and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 9, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home Monroe, with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday at noon, until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established.
