APPLE RIVER, ILL. - Elizabeth M. Siegel, 93, of Apple River, IL, passed away at the New Glarus Nursing Home on October 3, 2010. Elizabeth was born on August 7, 1917 in Gilford, JoDaviess Co, IL. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Schultz) Menzemer. Elizabeth married Clarence P. Siegel on November 11, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church near Scales Mound, IL. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Schapville, IL. Elizabeth enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Ladies Aid Circle for quilting in Schapville. A homemaker she also cleaned homes for others.
Surviving is one son; David (Ann) Siegel of Monroe, WI.; four grandchildren; Lori (Aaron) McKinney of Tomah, WI, Dennis Siegel of Monroe, WI, Ashley Siegel of Whitewater, WI and Ryan Siegel of Monroe, WI.; seven great- grandchildren; Samantha, Nathan, Nicholas, Matthew, Sabrina and Michael Siegel and Cori McNett; three nieces; Roberta Menzemer of East Dubuque, IL, Margaret (Bruce) Streicher of Elizabeth, IL, and Alverna Eveland of Stockton, IL; one nephew; David Caldwell of Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, one brother Walter and two sisters Berniece Caldwell and Annie Wachter.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Schapville, IL. Pastor Barbara Rapp will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will be held in West Ella Cemetery, Apple River, IL.
