Dennis J. Coffey, age 53, of rural Argyle, WI, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI, following a courageous two year battle with cancer. He was born September 2, 1960 in Monroe, WI, the son of James and Irene (Hittesdorf) Coffey. Dennis lived in Argyle all of his life. He graduated from Argyle High School in 1978.
Dennis worked at Argyle Industries until it closed in 2002. He later worked at Minhas Brewery in Monroe until 2012, when he no longer was able to work due to his health.
Dennis is survived by one brother: Tom (Deb) Coffey of Argyle; two brothers-in-law: Tom Lynch of Montana and Art Remington of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Patricia Lynch and Janice Remington.
Dennis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. He was a lifetime member of the Argyle Rod and Gun Club and various dog clubs. Dennis truly enjoyed raising hunting dogs, fishing and playing cards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 213 North Lafayette Street in Argyle, with Rev. Thomas Gillespie officiating. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of mass at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
