David M. Sickinger, age 57, of Freeport, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 22, 1957 in Monroe, WI the son of Lyle and Margaret (Laeser) Sickinger.
David attended Monroe High school.
David and Cynthia M. Lawver were married on June 17, 1978 in Rock City, IL. He was employed with Laidlaw in Monticello.
David was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Monroe Moose Lodge. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, especially camping and traveling. He enjoyed listening to music and the local bands.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia of Freeport, daughter, Ashley (Nicholas Adams) Sickinger of Freeport; grandson, Pavel; sister, Laura Laeser, of Buckeye, AZ; Nancy Franz of Lena, IL; sister-in-law, Young Sickinger, of Lansing, KS.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas, and brother-in-law, David Franz.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Todd Hackmann officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 14th at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., in Monroe.
