BELOIT - Dale John Witt, age 64, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the U.W. - Hospital, Madison, after a fall at his home. He was born on July 25, 1945 in Beloit, WI, the son of Lester E and Violet A. (Hansen) Witt.

Dale graduated from Brodhead High School in 1963 and attained a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He worked for Gardner Machine Co. of South Beloit, starting in 1978. Dale was an avid golfer and was a past member of the Decatur Lake Country Club, Brodhead, Windy Acres, Monroe, the Tuesday and Thursday Pool League in Beloit, and loved playing cards and watching all sports.

Dale is survived by a sister, Lois (Roger) Elliott, Chippewa, WI, two brothers, Dean (Brenda) Witt, and Denis Witt, both of Beloit, nieces and nephews, Bethany Whalen, Daniel Elliott, Melissa, Christine, Michelle, and Stephanie Witt, great-nieces and nephews, Madyson and Emma Whalen, Tayanna and Kyaira King, Alaina Wilder, Jordan Witt, Silas Rowe, and a very special friend, Michelle Quackenbush. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, with Pastor Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. A memorial fund will be established.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Town of Beloit Fire Department, the U.W. Med-Flight crew, and the U.W. Hospital staff for all of the special care.
