Arlene M. Huffman, age 87 of Monroe, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Monroe Clinic Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 29, 1928 in Monroe, the daughter of Ralph and Rose (Herrli) Wells. She attended Pleasant Valley School. Arlene married Edwin Robert Huffman on May 9, 1948 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, chapter #599, the Historic Cheese Center, and the Republican Party of Green County. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, watching the birds, spending time at the family farm watching the horses, reading and cross word puzzles, but most of all, visits with her grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 children: Sharon (John) Teasdale of Monticello, Bob (Denise) Huffman and Rick (Patty) Huffman both of Monroe; a brother, John (Ruth) Wells of Monticello; and a sister, Betty (Vernon) Brandenburg of Arbor Vitae, WI; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Shirley Grenzow and Ruth Juenemann; and a brother, R. Lavern Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John Tabaka and Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
