DARLINGTON — On Aug. 23:

•  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:59 a.m. on Woodberry Road in Lamont Township.

•  A deputy responded to a vehicle unlock at 8:23 a.m. on Bader way in Shullsburg.

•  A deputy responded to a welfare check at 1:05 p.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton.

•  Theft was reported at 1:19 p.m. on Bockhop Lane in Belmont.

•  An animal bite was reported at 2:07 p.m. on Cub Hollow Road in Monticello.

•  A threat was reported at 4:21 p.m. on Truman Road in Kendal Township.

•  Suspicious activity was reported at 5:24 p.m. on Mason Street in Wiota Township.

•  A hit and run was reported at 5:28 p.m. on Tuller Lane in Wayne Township.

•  A disabled vehicle was reported at 7:14 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

On Aug. 24:

•  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 1:26 a.m. on Wis. 78 in Gratiot Township.

•  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:04 a.m. on West Mound Road in Belmont Township.

•  An erratic driver was reported at 6:46 a.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township.

•  A deputy responded to a welfare check at 8:35 a.m. on Wis. 23 in Darlington Township.

•  Demetrio Diaz-Noriega, 43, Darlington, was arrested for operating without a driver’s license at 10:31 a.m. on Keep Street in Darlington. Diaz-Noriega was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and was later released to a responsible party.

•  A deputy responded to a welfare check at 2:16 p.m. on Center Hill Road in Darlington.

•  A deputy responded to a welfare check at 3:13 p.m. on Highland Street in Belmont.

•  A deputy responded to a 911 misdial at 3:25 p.m. on Hancock Lane in White Oak Springs Township.

•  A deputy responded to a 911 misdial on 5:38 p.m. on Faymont Road in Fayette Township.

•  Justin A. Ladas, 38, Chicago, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 5:56 on Wis. 24 in Darlington Township.

•  Sara S. Ayres, 41, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 6:14 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Darlington Township. 

•  A deputy responded to a vehicle unlock at 7:13 p.m. on West Milwaukee Street in Argyle.

•  A deputy responded to a welfare check at 7:57 p.m. on West Pleasant street in South Wayne. 

On Aug. 25:

•  Heather A. Fishnick, 25, Belmont, was cited for operating while suspended at 1:06 a.m. on Leahy Road in Gratiot Township.

•  Deputies assisted the Darlington Police Department with a disorderly conduct complaint at 1:26 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington. Neil R. Burchfield, 27, Lakemoor, Illinois, and Ricky G. Williamson, 40, Prophetstown, Illinois, were arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Lafayette County Jail. Both were later released on a cash bond.

•  Deputies assisted the Belmont Police Department with a traffic stop at 1:28 a.m. on Wis. 151. Alex J. West, 33, Madison, and Alvon D. Ladd, 22, Madison, were arrested for probation and parole violations and Jocylyn F. Nelson, 23, Madison, was arrested for a valid Jefferson County warrant. All three were transported to the Lafayette County Jail where they remain in custody.

•  A vehicle in the roadway was reported at 8:06 a.m. on Wayne Center Road in Wayne Township.

•  A suspicious person was reported at 9:32 a.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne. Eddie S. Bennett, 41, Gratiot, was arrested for two valid warrants. Bennett was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

•  Criminal damage to property was reported at 12:31 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

•  A civil dispute was reported at 6:30 p.m. on Garden Street in New Diggings Township. Heidi L. McCullen, 39, Benton, was cited for operating while suspended and failure to notify the DMV for a change of address.

•  Disorderly conduct was reported at 7:11 p.m. on East Main Street in Shullsburg. Benton Police assisted. Thomas J. Martin, 50, Shullsburg, was arrested for disorderly conduct and was transported to the Lafayette County Jail. Martin was booked and released.

•  An erratic driver was reported at 8:39 p.m. on County O in Shullsburg Township.

•  A vehicle without tail lights was reported at 9:23 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. 

•  A hit and run accident was reported at 12:41 a.m. on County W in Benton.

•  A deputy assisted the Darlington Police Department with a criminal damage to property complaint at 3:19 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington.

•  A deputy assisted Darlington Police with a citizen’s assist at 3:19 a.m. on East Lucy Street in Darlington.

•  Criminal damage to property was reported at 8:59 a.m. on Old Q Road in Argyle Township.

•  A deputy responded to a vehicle unlock at 9:14 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Lamont township.

•  Littering was reported at 11:06 a.m. on Bethel Groad Road in Kendall Township.

•  Deputies responded to a welfare check at 1:30 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township. Darlington EMS And Darlington Police Department assisted. 

•  Criminal damage to property was reported at 6:07 p.m. on South Prairie Road in Gratiot Township.

•  Disorderly conduct was reported at 6:27 p.m. on Aetna Road in New Diggings Township.

•  David A. Hessling, 58, Hazel Green, was arrested at 6:57 p.m. on East Main Street in Benton for operating while intoxicated and unnecessary acceleration. Hessling was later released to a responsible party.

•  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:07 p.m. on South Splinter Street in Cuba City.

•  Elry G. Jimenez-Bonilla, 58, Darlington, was cited for operating left of center and operating without a valid driver’s license, second offence, at 11:20 p.m. on Truman Road in Elk Grove Township. Jimenez-Bonilla was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released. 

On Aug. 26:

•  Alan J. Liphart, 34, South Wayne, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. on Andrews Road in Wayne Township on a warrant from the state probation office after the signal from his GPS tracker failed, prompting action by officials. Liphart was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and released Monday morning. 


Monroe Police 

MONROE — On Aug. 22:

•  Thomas C. Ekena, 49, Monroe, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. in the 500 block of 8th street on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for failure to appear on a previous charge. Ekena was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

•  Timothy Q. Warren, 24, Steven’s Point, was arrested at 10:02 p.m. in the 2600 block of Wis. 69. Warren was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a court appearance.

•  A disturbance was reported at 10:52 p.m. on the 1600 block of 14th Street involving a knife being displayed. Investigation of the incident resulted in a17-year-old Monroe man being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The 17-year-old man was later released after being booked pending a court appearance. The knife was reported as only displayed and there were no injuries. 

On Aug. 23:

•  Vincent M. Ott, 28, Monroe, was arrested on a warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a probation violation at 4:46 p.m. in the 1500 block of 30th avenue. Ott was also cited for operating a motor vehicle while suspended and with possession of drug paraphernalia. Ott was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance. 

On Aug. 24:

•  Sean M. Stichter, 28, Freeport, Illinois, was arrested for knowingly fleeing an officer and possession of THC at 4:49 a.m. after fleeing following a traffic stop in the N1400 block of County G in Spring Grove. The vehicle was pursued and stopped in the 300 block of 23rd Street in Brodhead. Stichter was also cited for speeding, passing in a no passing zone and failure to stop at a stop sign. Stichter was jailed pending court. The Brodhead Police Department assisted. 

On Aug. 25: 

•  Lisa M. Pfaff, 29, Gratiot, was cited for speeding, no insurance and operating after revocation. Pfaff was released pending court. A passenger in the vehicle, Hali S. Smith, 26, South Wayne, was arrested for obstructing an officer after she gave deputies a false name. Smith was also taken into custody for a Lafayette County Warrant. Smith was transported to the Green County Jail where she posted bond and was released pending court. The Monroe Police Department K9 assisted.

•  Assault was reported at 1 a.m. on the 1400 block of 17th Street. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Nathan K. Rufener, 28, Monroe, and Danielle M. Campi, 32, Monroe. Rufener was charged with disorderly conduct and battery. Campi was charged with disorderly conduct and substantial battery. Both Rufener and Campi were confined in the Green County Jail.

•  Domestic abuse was reported at 5:29 a.m. on the 1600 block of 14th avenue. Travis A. Vincent, 28, Monroe, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s domestic abuse laws and resisting/obstructing an officer. Vincent was confined in the Green County Jail.

•  Gary L. Hanson, Monroe, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants first offense. Hanson cited for the offense and was later released to a responsible party pending his court appearance. 


Darlington Police 

DARLINGTON — On Aug. 25:

•  Neil R. Burchfield, 27, Lakemoor, Illinois, was arrested for resisting/obstructing an officer following a traffic stop at 2:20 a.m. on the Cheese County Trail. Burchfield was also cited for operating a UTV while under the influence, refusal to provide required sample/submit to chemical tests, ATV access route rules violation, and operating an ATV without a valid safety certificate.

•  Ricky G. Williamson, 40, Prophetstown, Illinois, was arrested for disorderly conduct following an investigation at Trailside Bar at 2:15 a.m. 

On Aug. 26:

•  Cody A. Henning, 30, Mineral Point, was arrested for operating while under the influence following a contract at McDonald’s at 3:37 a.m. Henning was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He was cited and released to a responsible party.

•  Bethany Susan Kolander, 34, Darlington, was cited for operating while suspending at 1:37 p.m. on Main Street in Darlington. 


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Aug. 19:

•  Daniel W. Nipple, 45, Brodhead, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle at 8:36 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th avenue.

•  Police cited a vehicle parked at 8:59 p.m. on the 100 block of 3rd Avenue for parking an unregistered vehicle.

On Aug. 20:

•  Police responded to a welfare check at 10:45 a.m. on the 600 block of Oberdorf Court. 

•  Police responded to a vehicle unlock at 3:38 p.m. in the 1300 block of Wis. 69.

•  A manhole cover knocked off its base and a water “geyser” coming up was reported at 8:37 p.m. in the area of 3rd avenue and 11th street. Barricades were obtained to protect the area.

•  Numerous manhole covers knocked off their base and water coming out was reported at 9:30 p.m. in the area of 8th Avenue and 2nd Street. The grates were replaced.

On Aug. 21:

•  Police responded to a medical call at 8:42 a.m. in the 1300 block of 5th Street.

•  Prank calls being placed were reported at 12:33 p.m. on the 300 block of 2nd street. 

•  An individual with a dog in Village Park was reported at 1:56 p.m. The citizen was advised that it is against village ordinance and was asked the leave the park with the dog. 

•  Police assisted the Belleville Police Department with the high rising waters caused from flash floods at 8:11 p.m.

On Aug. 22: 

•  A gas drive off was reported at 10:18 a.m. on the 1400 block of Wis. 69. The driver was contacted and informed to return and pay.

•  Police responded to a medical call at 2:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of 2nd Street.

•  Found property was reported at 3:48 p.m. The property was returned to the owner.

•  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a death investigation in New Glarus.

On Aug. 23:

•  Police assisted a New Glarus citizen and Monticello Police in recovering stolen property. The property was returned to the owner.

•  An unregistered vehicle was issued a citation at 1:07 a.m. in the 200 block of 5th Avenue.

•  A possible residential burglary was reported at 1:28 p.m. on the 700 block of 3rd Street. Three juveniles were found tampering with a home security system. Charges are pending.

•  Kevin M. Knudtson, Monticello, was cited for no seat belt at 4:31 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue. 

•  An erratic driver was reported at 4:58 p.m. on Wis. 69 approaching New Glarus. The vehicle was located parked at the owner’s residence with no occupants in or around the vehicle.

•  Loud music was reported at 10:10 p.m. on the 200 block of 5th avenue.

•  Police observed a bathroom door at Veteran’s Memorial Park propped open with a trash can at 11:53 p.m. The premise was checked and found to be okay.

On Aug 24:

•  Police assisted a citizen concerned about an acquaintance at 3 p.m. 

•  Rebecca A. McNamer, 46, Stitzer, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 5:08 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

•  Two vehicles that were illegally parked were cited at 6:49 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

On Aug. 25:

•  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office on a multiple vehicle crash at 12:24 p.m. on Wis. 39 at County J. 

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 1:41 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

•  Disorderly conduct was reported at 4:17 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

•  Police responded to an alarm at 7:09 p.m. It was set off by human error.

•  Police responded to a medical call at 7:25 p.m. on the 400 block of 8th Avenue. 

On Aug. 26:

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 10:20 a.m. in the 100 block of 4th Street. 

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 10:29 a.m. in the 400 block of 2nd Street. 

•  Police assisted Belleville Police at 11:37 a.m. with checking a residence for a subject in the 500 block of Railroad Street.

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 2:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of 8th Street.

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 3:01 p.m. in the 400 block of 2nd street.

•  An illegally parked vehicle was cited at 3:11 p.m. in the 1100 block of 5th Street.

•  Police and EMS assisted with a medical call in the 1300 block of 1st street.

•  A parking complaint was reported at 6:50 p.m. in the 400 block of 3rd avenue. 

•  A dog at large was reported at 6:50 p.m. in the 300 block at 8th Street. The owner secured the dog and was issued a warning.
