Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, police performed 49 security checks, 25 citizen assists, 12 assists of other agencies, seven vehicle registrations and 10 follow-ups to incidents; responded to 39 calls for service, 10 EMS calls, nine 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; made 14 traffic stops and responded to one fire call. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, Sept. 30:

•  A Brodhead man, 44, was cited for hit and run and driving without a license or motor vehicle insurance following a report of a traffic crash at 8:59 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue

On Tuesday, Oct. 2:

•  A Brodhead woman, 78, was cited for failure to yield at an intersection following a report of a traffic crash at 4:09 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 4th Avenue.

On Thursday, Oct. 4:

•  A Brodhead man, 62, was cited for improperly passing a stopped school bus at 10:16 a.m. in the 1700 block of East 2nd Avenue.

•  A Brodhead man, 32, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 7:13 p.m. in the 1000 block of 25th Street.

On Friday, Oct. 5:

•  A Brodhead woman, 52, was cited for truancy (parent responsibility) at about 8:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

•  A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were cited for possession of tobacco at 12:48 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

On Saturday, Oct. 6:

•  A Durand, Illinois man, 52, was cited for speeding at 12:20 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

•  A dog owner was warned after police responded at 12:42 p.m. to a report of a dog at large in the 1200 block of West 2nd Avenue.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Thursday, Oct. 4:

•  Travis L. Hawkins, 39, Brodhead, was cited for disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 1:11 a.m. to a residence in the W500 block of Theresa Court, Town of Decatur. The Brodhead Police Department assisted with the case.

•  James J. Smith, 41, Juda, was cited for disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 9:32 a.m. to the N2300 block of Spring Street in Juda.

On Friday, Oct. 5:

•  Thomas V. Van Tussi, 59, Belleville, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and battery after deputies responded at 2:14 p.m. to a domestic abuse case at a residence in the W3800 block of Exeter Crossing Road, Town of Exeter. He was jailed pending court.

•  Tammy L. Figi, 51, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of drugs after the sheriff’s office received a traffic complaint at 2:40 p.m. about a vehicle in the area of Wis. 81 and County N, Town of Monroe. She was also cited for unsafe lane deviation and released pending court.


Albany Police

ALBANY — Jasmine C. Alexander, 19, Albany, was cited for driving with a suspended license Thursday, Oct. 4.

•  Mitchell R. Mau, 61, Brodhead, was cited for driving without a valid license Saturday, Oct. 6.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, Sept. 30:

•  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 3:19 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

•  Lyle R. Stepp, 53, Highland Park, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 3:46 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

•  Joseph A. Scarlato, 46, Kenosha, was cited for speeding at 3:57 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

•  Kent L. Angell, 58, Cedarville, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 5:27 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

•  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:35 p.m. on West Estey Street in Shullsburg.

•  Otilia E. Santos Gomez, 29, Shullsburg, was cited for driving without a valid license and without proof of vehicle insurance at 6:04 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.
