On August 4:

● 8:39 a.m. A deputy responded to Mitchell Hollow RD, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident. Marcus A. Faulkner, 19, Belmont was traveling on Mitchell Hollow RD when he lost control of his vehicle causing him to enter the ditch, struck a utility box, went into a field and came to a rest after striking an embankment. Faulkner reported no injuries. Faulkner’s 2016 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On August 5:

● 8:39 p.m. Denis J. Velasquez-Pozo, 20, Platteville was arrested for Felony Bail Jumping (2 Counts) and Operating Without a Valid Driver’s License (2nd Offense) on STH 126, Elk Grove Township. Velasquez-Pozo was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released on bond. Velasquez-Pozo was also cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Proof of Insurance and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Improper Color Light to Rear.

On August 8:

● 6:05 p.m. A deputy responded to S State ST, Village of Argyle for a two vehicle accident. Westley D Winter, 73, Winslow IL was attempting a parking maneuver while operating a 2021 International Motors school bus and struck an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both the 2021 International Motors and 2017 Chevrolet received functional damage and were driven from the scene.
