Badger State Ethanol to expand

MONROE - Badger State Ethanol LLC is collaborating with Scott Lucas of LE3 on an expansion of BSE's Monroe plant. The expansion will create additional jobs and increase the economic impact the plant has on the community and the state.

For this expansion, BSE was awarded a $493,327 grant from the Rural Energy for America program and another $67,000 was awarded from Focus on Energy for energy efficiency projects.

Badger has worked with Ace Concrete Company, Carrousel Excavating, PDC Electrical and Fagen Inc, on the project. The project is expected to be completed and operational late in the first quarter of 2017.

The expansion will address areas that limited production capacity and performance and will focus on improving energy efficiency. Once completed, the ethanol and co-product output will increase 45 percent and will result in a reduction of natural gas usage by 20 percent.
