Burglary, two thefts reported in New Glarus

NEW GLARUS - A burglary and two thefts were reported between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27 in the Village of New Glarus. All three incidents remain under investigation.

New Glarus Police reported a forced entry was made through a garage door of a home on 3rd Street. Items, consisting of compact discs and a small amount of money, were stolen out of a parked vehicle. The break-in reportedly occurred during the night before the discovery, and was reported at about 11 a.m. Sept. 24.

Also on Sept. 24, police received a report of a Wisconsin license plate, number 580 MWS, stolen off a vehicle that had been located on Industrial Drive.

At about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, New Glarus Police received a complaint of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of 4th Avenue. Police report a brown and gold cloth purse, containing the belongings of a Monroe resident, had been stolen from a parked vehicle between 8:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. the night before. Police conducted a foot search of the area in an attempt to locate any discarded items, but were unable to recover any stolen property. The matter remains under investigation.
