OSHKOSH - The Wisconsin Region of the American Red Cross has announced that Appleton resident Tara Williams is the December 2015 Volunteer of the Month for the entire state of Wisconsin. Williams is originally from Brodhead.

Williams became a Red Cross volunteer in November 2014. She was donating blood at the blood drive at her company (Shopko Corporation) when she struck-up a conversation with Ben Delcore about volunteering. Since then, she has been a volunteer for multiple departments and is a leader of the Young Professionals Group.

Williams has been involved with the Young Professionals Club since its inception just over a year ago and has served as an active member, participating in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program, Fire Safety Campaign, donor thank-a-thons, social media, donating blood and more. On Nov. 1, she became the president of the Red Cross Young Professional Club. In this role, she will lead the club into its second year of program development and membership recruitment. She has rallied support for and participated in events such as the Packer 5K, Holiday Mail for Heroes, golf events, the Dancing with Our Stars (DWOS) event and Lambeau Field's Spooktacular and Play 60. This month, Williams also will become an adjunct Northeast Wisconsin Chapter board member.
