The Clarence Covered Bridge over the Sugar River on old Route 20 (now Wisconsin 11) west of Brodhead with a horse-drawn buggy and an automobile passing through. The bridge was closed 85 years ago this week on April 22, 1931, when an overweight truck fell through the bridge deck.
