Brodhead High School receives bomb threat

BRODHEAD - Brodhead High School was placed on lockdown after a bomb threat was discovered written in a bathroom stall at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The bomb threat warned of an attack that would take place today, although a statement from the School District of Brodhead said the threat was not considered credible.

In response to the threat, Brodhead police swept the building and remained on campus throughout the day. Officers will be present throughout the day today as well.

No threats were made targeting other Brodhead schools.

The threat comes two days after a previous bomb threat targeting Monroe High School. Similar precautions were taken in response to that threat, which was sent to teachers and staff through a hacked student email account.

Neither Brodhead police nor school officials returned phone calls seeking further comment.
