BLANCHARDVILLE - A Blanchardville man was killed Friday when his clothes became entangled in a power take-off shaft, Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick said.

David C. White, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene by Green County Coroner Jan Perry around 1:30 p.m. at a farm located at N8248 County A in York township.

He had been working near farm machinery when a piece of his clothing got caught in the power take-off, Roderick said.

The Green County Sheriff's Department received a request for an ambulance to the farm around 1:30 p.m. Argyle Emergency Medical Service and the Blanchardville Fire Department responded to the scene.

The farm is owned by Ronald Strommen.

White had been employed at the farm for several years and also lives at the farm.

The Green County Coroner's office will schedule an autopsy, Roderick said.
