Pictured is the Monroe Shine Parlor located at 1027 16th Avenue on the west side of the Square. Ladies and gentlemen could receive shoe shines by Paul Donodica in October 1922 (pictured here). The business also cleaned and blocked hats. The courthouse can be seen through the window. This store is located between Baumgartner’s and Luecke’s. This picture is in the collection of the Green County Historical Society and included in the Monroe Area Pictorial Directory available for purchase.
