Dusty Ellis, McConnell, talks about his best friend Thor, a 2-year-old American Staffordshire terrier.
Ellis went with his wife Casey, who own Casey’s Bling in Monroe, to look at a litter of puppies in Lena.
“He was the clumsiest one, so we had to take him,” Ellis said.

Describe Thor’s personality.
Clumsy. He’s a big baby and very active. He’s kind of the instigator of the family. Our two other dogs are older than him.
What do you like to do together?
We enjoy car rides and play a lot of tug-of-war. We do some gardening together. He used to love going camping and riding in the golf cart.
What has it been like having Thor in your life?
Crazy. I’ve had a couple surgeries and he helps out a lot. He’s very protective. He knows when I’m having bad days with back issues. He’s always there. I even trained him to get ice out of the fridge by himself.
