Youth in government program seeks applications
Monroe City Hall Sign

MONROE — The Monroe Youth in Government program is currently seeking applications for youth to apply for seats on the Monroe City Council and City of Monroe committees.

Eligible youth must currently be in 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade in the spring of 2019 and either be a resident of the City of Monroe or be part of the Monroe school district.

Nomination forms and application forms are available on the Extension Green County website at green.extension.wisc.edu. Adults may submit a nomination form on behalf of a youth if they choose, but a nomination form is not required for a youth to apply. Youth interested in the program should submit an application form to the Extension Green County office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 1.

Youth that apply for the program will go through an interview process. Selected participants will be notified by late spring and will start terms in the fall. Prior to taking the oath of office, youth will participate in an orientation. For more information, contact Victoria Solomon at 608-328-9440 or Victoria.Solomon@ces.uwex.edu.
