Three area dancers to perform in 'Coppelia'

MADISON - Three area dancers will perform in Dance Wisconsin's "Coppelia," a kid-friendly, humorous ballet.

There will be two performances. The first performance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, preceded by Dr. Copplius' Tea Party, an event for children, their dolls and parents at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets for the tea party are $11 and the children get to craft, have tea and sandwiches, and learn about pantomime, a balletic tool used often in the stage production of "Coppelia."

A second performance is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Early bird prices for the ballet are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $10 for children and students. Tickets are for sale at Madison College's Mitby Theater, online at madisoncollege.edu/plus/mitby-theater, or by calling 608-221-4535.

Dancers from the Monroe area include: Emily Ginocchio, who will dance as the role of Czardes and Waltz of the Hours; Jordan Zweifel, who will dance as the role of Swanhilda' Friend; and Haliey McIntosh, who will dance as the role of Swanhilda's Friend.
