Studio M dancers earn honors in competition

MADISON - Studio M Dance Academy competed at the Starbound National Talent Competition on April 21 where they competed in six dance pieces.

The Senior Competitive Company members are Jesse Anderson, Troy Carpenter, Brianna Becker, Bailey Hoesly, Brianna Karlen, Lauren Keegan and Jessica Shaker.

Shaker and Carpenter performed the piece "Who You Are," which received Elite Gold and third place in Senior Duo/Trio.

Anderson, Carpenter, Karlen, Keegan and Shaker performed the piece "Everyone Wants to Be Beautiful" and "The Winner Is," both receiving high gold.

Anderson, Carpenter, Karlen, Keegan and Shaker performed the piece "Friends Sold Separately," which received high gold and tenth place in senior group.

Anderson, Becker, Carpenter, Hoesly, Keegan, Karlen and Shaker performed the piece "Judas," which received high gold and placed eighth in senior group with a special judges' award for attack and intensity.

Carpenter performed the "Goodbye My Lover" piece and received elite gold, fourth place in senior solo and a special judges' award for attack and connection.

Molly Campbell and Megan (Campbell) Jorenby are co-owners of Studio M. Cambell and Jorenby choreographed the pieces and Carpenter choreographed "Friends Sold Separately" under the owners' direction.
