Sons of Norway to host knitting talk

MONROE - Monroe Sons of Norway Ostestaden Lodge will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Union Presbyterian Church community room in Monroe.

The event will start with social time with coffee and dessert. The meeting and program will begin at 7 p.m.

The speaker will be Jocelyn Stricker of Orange Kitten Yarns, who will speak on knitting. Knitting as a hobby and vocation has been closely tied to Norwegian culture, as creating sweaters has been a cottage industry in Norway for centuries.

The meeting is open to the public.
