Reading program to be 'groundbreaking'

MONROE - "Groundbreaking Reads" is the theme of the summer's adult reading program at the Monroe Public Library.

The 2013 Summer Reading Program is open to all adults and high school students in grades 10 and up. It will run concurrently with the children's program, "Dig Into Reading," and the teen program, "Beneath the Surface."

Registration will begin on Monday, June 3, but a kickoff party is set for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 in the second-floor conference room. There will be dirt cake, iced tea, Blind Date with a Book choices and prizes. The adult summer program will conclude with an ice cream social on Tuesday, July 30 for all registered participants. All programs are free.
