MONROE — Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation held their 14th annual golf outing on Aug. 6 at the Monroe Golf Club. The event included 18 holes of golf followed by a Polynesian tropical themed dinner with a live and silent auction. Participation included a record turnout of 36 golf teams and 220 dinner guests, generating over $96,500 in proceeds.

After dinner, guest auctioneer, Zeke Garthwaite, led guests in the live auction. Of the 12 items, the highest bid item was a priceless five-course dinner experience at the home of Monroe Clinic CEO, Mike Sanders and his wife, Norah. Other popular packages were a one-week getaway to Palm Desert, California, a one-of-a-kind TaylorMade driver autographed by Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, and an elegant evening at the Ludlow Mansion including dinner and wine tasting for 12 guests.

CG Schmidt was a first time Ace Sponsor at the $10,000 level. Ruda Toyota and Monroe Radio Shack/US Cellular were hole in one sponsors.

This year’s golf outing supports the Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation’s Hospice Endowment Fund. This Endowment will bring continued support to Monroe Clinic Hospice’s compassionate end of life care through economic hills and valleys for the foreseeable future.
