Monroe: Badger Boys state reps announced

MONROE - Badger Boys' State representatives for 2008 were recently announced by the Monroe American Legion Post No. 84. Ernest Gebhardt Jr., of the American Legion, served as the contact person. Michael Demianiuk and Reuben Arnold were selected as delegates and Joseph Ganshert as an alternate. Wisconsin American Legion Badger Boys' State will be held June 14-21 at Ripon College.

Michael Demianiuk, son of Dr. Edward and Cindy Demianiuk, is a member of German Club, Student Senate, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Monroe varsity baseball, Monroe fall baseball team, Fusion Youth Group, Journey 24-7 Awana Club, and Monroe Bible Church. Michael's hobbies include baseball, taking stats for Monroe basketball, playing and listening to music, reading, volunteering at church and in the community, and working at Café Claudeen's. Future plans include attending a four year college with the intentions of obtaining a degree in architecture.

Reuben Arnold, son of Drs. Martin Arnold and Rachel Long, is a member of National Honor Society, Madrigals, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Vocal Jazz Choir, musical, school play and forensics. His hobbies include playing piano, reading, hiking, camping and singing. Reuben plans to attend University of Chicago or University of Wisconsin-Madison and further study in the medical field.

Joseph Ganshert, son of Dr. Thomas and Jodi Ganshert, is a member of National Honor Society, Jazz Band, Boy Scouts of America receiving the Order of the Arrow. Joseph's hobbies include hockey, tennis, cross country, music, (trombone, euphonium and bagpipes). Future plans are to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.
