Memorial Healthcare Foundation awards $5,000 in scholarships

DARLINGTON - The Memorial Healthcare Foundation Grants & Career Development Committee has selected five local recipients for health care scholarships in 2017. The recipients, who each received a $1,000 award on July 18, exemplified educational and community requirements.

They are:

n Alison Klein, Belmont, is currently studying human biology and psychology at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Klein is the daughter of Brian and Angela Klein, Belmont. She is a 2016 graduate of Belmont High School. She is currently working at Heartland Manor Care in Platteville and Green Bay.

n Jenna Leahy, Darlington, is currently studying nursing at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. Leahy is the daughter of Randy and LeAnn Leahy, Darlington. She is a 2011 graduate of Darlington High School and currently works as a CNA at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.

n Cole McDonald, Darlington, is currently studying biology at UW-Platteville. McDonald is the son of Dave and Carmen McDonald, Darlington. He is a 2015 graduate of Darlington High School and is currently employed at Lafayette Manor as a CNA.

n Marissa Monson, Wiota, is currently studying psychology/biology at Edgewood College in Madison. Monson is the daughter of Jeff and Laurie Monson, Wiota. She is a 2014 graduate of Black Hawk High School. She currently works at Aster Assisted Living in Monroe as a resident assistant and volunteers as a medical assistant at both Our Lady of Hope Clinic in Madison and at Monroe Clinic.

n Ashley Moore, Gratiot, is currently studying pharmacy at UW-Madison. She is married to Adam Moore and is the daughter of Michael and Jolene Martin, Darlington. She is a 2010 graduate of Darlington High School and is currently working at the Foreign Type Cheesemakers Association Laboratory in Monroe.

The Memorial Healthcare Foundation's mission is to support and promote Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County through the endowment of new and existing services, scholarships and capital improvements.
