POSTVILLE - The Green's Prairie Cemetery Association will host a Memorial Day activity at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 31, at the cemetery on Postville Road between Green County roads A and H.

Green's Prairie Cemetery, an original pioneer prairie cemetery, served the settlers of the area from the Towns of Adams and York in Green County and Primrose and Perry in Dane County. Remember that this cemetery was established in horse and buggy days just prior to Wisconsin becoming a state.

The interred veterans from the War of 1812, Blackhawk War and the Civil War will be recognized.

Feature presentations will focus on David Ash and Elijah Gorham from the War of 1812 and James Biggs of the Blackhawk War.

Come and join us on the "hilltop" to honor all who served us in the military. Weather permitting we will be able to view Blue Mounds from the south, just north of Postville (Stewart for the old timers).

More information can be received by calling William Kuenzi, Jr. at (608) 527-2840.
