MONROE — Spring has sprung as the Monroe Arts Center (MAC) prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary with Taste of Spring at Monroe’s historic Turner Hall. This special annual event will host memories of the Monroe Arts Center’s past 50 years as it honors the sweet notes of today with a four-course dinner. MAC encourages foodies and art lovers alike to join in for an evening of fun with a seasonally-inspired menu paired perfectly with fine wines and local specialty beers.
Those that haven’t attended this fine dining and artfully inspired gathering in the past, MAC hopes to encourage all to attend this festive event. Sue Barrett has been busily helping plan for this joyous event as she stepped up in a pivotal year to co-chair the Taste of Spring planning committee with her co-chair Julie Buchanan. The Monroe Arts Center is delighted to have a wonderful group of committee members, donors and volunteers help to make this annual event a memory maker in celebration of MAC’s 50th year.
“We are looking forward to another fun and festive ‘Taste of Spring’ fundraising event again this year,” Barrett said. It’s always an incredible night of comradery and excitement with people from all walks of life coming together to celebrate Spring and support the Arts in Monroe. The special theme will be the 50th Anniversary of the Monroe Arts Center. There will be lots of good food, wine, and many wonderful Silent and Live auction items to round out the evening.”
Attendees of MAC’s Taste of Spring celebration will be inspired by not only the gourmet meal, but by the unique experiences and artful items curated to be live auctioned on May 19. Beautiful art work, a mixology night, along with a Sedona vacation are just some teasers to whet one’s appetite for a spring night out with friends in support of the arts and in honor of MAC’s 50th year.
The Monroe Arts Center Board of Directors and Monroe Arts Center Foundation Board of Directors cordially invites all to come enjoy a special evening for the arts on Monday, May 19. Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. with live auction to follow.
