MONROE — Monroe Arts Center presents David Fisher, also known as “The Rope Warrior,” in a free, outdoor event from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 8 on MAC’s south side. This event is part of MAC’s Family and Kids Series, which is recommended for all ages.
Fisher has been performing his interactive and visually entertaining jump rope show all over the world for the last 25 years.
Fisher is a professional athlete, entertainer, author and is a lean, mean, jumping machine who executes stunts that most can’t imagine. In addition to being the current Guinness World Record holder for the most “Rump Jumps” (jumping rope while reclining on his bottom) in one minute, his jump rope tricks, stunts, extraordinary speed and record-breaking jumps have been seen on over 100 national television programs, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent, The NBC Nightly News, Guinness World Records Primetime, Sportscenter, CNN and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. In addition, he has demonstrated his jump roping skills for U.S. Presidents Clinton and Bush and Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
Fisher is the originator of Ropenastics, an exciting program that incorporates rope jumping, rhythmic gymnastics, dance, martial arts and aerobics into a fun, creative and beneficial cardiovascular activity.
There will not be a rain date for this event. Changes in programming may be made periodically in response to rapidly changing public health concerns.
