The Lafayette County Extension Office recently helped bring the Juntos program to Darlington families. Juntos means together in Spanish. The Juntos program works to unite community partners to provide Latino 8th to 12th grade students and their parents with knowledge, skills and resources to encourage youth to continue their high school education and help families to work together to gain access to college. Throughout the 6-week course, families were provided with meals from Mi Casita and presentations from Darlington High School Staff and surrounding schools such as Madison College, UW-Platteville and Southwest Tech. The learning experience culminated with a Darlington High School and Shullsburg student alumni panel and a tour of Southwest Tech.
