In 2019 a total of 3,519 pounds of cans were recycled and so far in 2020 a total of 2,620 pounds of cans have been recycled.

Since the dissolving of the Boy Scout Troop in Juda a few years ago, the Zion and Oakley United Methodist Church’s Youth Group has taken over the collection of aluminum cans. The collection cage is located in the southwest corner of the Sugar River Bank of Juda parking lot. Over the years, funds generated from the collection have been used to support activities of the group, Missions and Special Projects of the church. For the months of June, July and August, the funds raised will be allocated to the Stained Glass Window Repair Project at the church in Juda. People bringing cans to the collection cage are reminded to have the bags closed securely and only aluminum cans are accepted. Do not include aluminum foil, cat food cans or any other materials.
