Historical society to meet on March 15

ALBANY - "Early Surveying of Wisconsin & Green County" will be the topic for the Tuesday, March 15 meeting of the Albany Historical Society. Frank Gombar, Brodhead, will be the guest speaker. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at 119 N. Water St.

Gombar will speak following a short business meeting. He will bring several land-surveying instruments that have been in his family for several generations and will explain their history and use. Gombar's father and a grandfather were surveyors. Gombar's father was the official Green County surveyor for many years and Gombar worked with him through his high school and college years. Gombar later became at teacher and taught in Brodhead for many years.
