BRODHEAD - Green-Rock Audubon will host a birding field trip at 7 a.m. June 14 at Avon Bottoms. Those who attend will be led to Avon Bottoms by John Patterson.
The group will meet at the intersection of Highway 11/81 and County G, southwest of Brodhead, at 7 a.m.
Avon Bottoms is a Wisconsin DNR hunting and recreational area. The habitat is Sugar River forest flood plain and prairie.
Those who attend can expect to see owls, yellow-billed cuckoo, grasshopper sparrow, red-shouldered hawks, lark sparrows, prothonotary warbler and numerous other rarities.
