It’s Mardi Gras themed at Green County Fair this year, which kicks off July 15-19.

For five days, visitors will be able to bask under the warm sun, eat fair food like cheese curds, cream puffs and funnel cakes (to name a few), check on exhibitions, local animals, test their skills at carnival games, taste the thrill of carnival rides, and be entertained with a number of grandstand features.

For those 20 and under, join the fair week scavenger hunt by picking up a card at the Camp of Champions tent, then explore the fairgrounds to complete fun challenges, and win prizes.

The party kicks off at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15 with the Swine Show in the Farm Bureau & FS Stock Pavillion. Open ceremonies for the fair won’t take place until 6:30 p.m., however, followed by the CC Bucking Bulls Full Rodeo at 7 p.m. in front of the grandstand. In the entertainment tent, Rock Rebel Junction Band will play from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

On Thursday, animal showings begin again at 8 a.m.. The SWIRA ATV, UTV and Dirt Bike Races take place at 7 p.m. in the grandstand, with Junkyard Kings playing music in the Entertainment Tent from 7-11 p.m.

Friday morning will be the beef and goat shows, with a magic show in the afternoon, and the Badger State Tractor Pull in the grandstand. Cherry Pie will be the musical guest from 8:30-11:30 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent.

On Saturday, the Fur and Feather Auction will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the meat animal auction starting 30 minutes after the Fur and Feather Auction concludes. The Green County Local Truck and Tractor Pull and the Lawn Mower and ATV Club Pull are in front of the grandstands at 9 a.m. The Rodini’s Magic Shows will take place at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Commons. The Kiddie Pedal Pull is at 10 a.m. in front of the Fair Office. Master Showmanship takes place in Show Barn 7 at 5 p.m., with the Adult Showmanship to follow. A Monster Truck Show will dazzle the crowds in the grandstand at 7 p.m., the High Mileage will bring the music to the Entertainment Tent.

On Sunday at 10 a.m., a Horse Pull will take place at the grandstand. The Cheese Auction and Dairy Youth Auction will be at 1 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent. Brew City Wrestling returns to Show Barn 7 at 2 p.m., and the Demolition Derby is at 5 p.m. in front of the grandstands.

July 15 is Military Day, with free admission for those with a Military ID.

July 16 is Educator Day. July 17 is First Responder Day, as well as Special Needs Day. There will be free parking and carnival rides with paid gate admission.

Kids Day is July 17, with free admission until 1:30 p.m.

July 19 is Pioneer Day, with a $5 admission for adults 65 and older. Also, $5 food voucher for Junior Leaders with an ID.

Once again there is a Lunch Gate Admission deal — from Wednesday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. from the West and North Gates only, pay $10 cash to get in, buy some food for lunch, and leave by 1 p.m. to receive your $10 back.

The carnival will run from 5-11 p.m. on July 15; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. July 16; 12-11 p.m. on July 17 (10 a.m.-12 p.m. is reserved for Special Needs Day); and then 12-11 p.m. on July 18 and 19. July 19 will have two session times, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and 5 p.m.-11 p.m. Megapasses are available, with advanced passes available online only for $75. Once the fair opens, tickets will need to be purchased at the booth. Each session (10 a.m.-4 p.m., 5 p.m.-11 p.m.) is $35 during the fair, or $85 for all five days.

Regular cash admission is $35 for an adult season pass, $10 for a child season pass or $15 for parking season pass. Daily admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 8-12, and $5 for parking. Pit Passes cost extra for the tractor pulls and Demo Derby.
