MONROE - The Green County Humane Society is hosting a Volunteer Orientation for anyone interested in learning more about helping the animal shelter.

The orientation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 in the upstairs meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.

There are numerous opportunities for volunteers to get involved: working at events, socializing, washing and grooming animals; and helping with general shelter upkeep.

There are also off-site opportunities, including making follow-up phone calls to adopters, public relations and fundraising.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. To register or for more information about volunteer opportunities, call Angie Meyer at 293-0152 or email angmeyer@ charter.net .

GCHS operates a no-kill animal shelter at 1500 6 1/2 Ave. in Monroe.
