Freeport High stages 'All Shook Up'

FREEPORT - Freeport High School kicks off its 2008-2009 theater season with performances of "All Shook Up" November 13, 14, and 15. Featuring the classic rock music of Elvis Presley, this lively musical is loosely based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Romance and mistaken identities abound in this musical comedy.

Tim Connors, head of the FHS Theatre Department, directs the regional premiere of this new musical, which originally opened on Broadway in 2005. Bill Petersen is instrumental director, Derek Simons is vocal director, Stephanie Thompson is choreographer, and Elwyn Webb is technical director. Students in leading roles include Kelly Bickle (Natalie), Zach Masa-Myers (Chad), Anneliese Schrader (Sandra), and Andrew Dorsey (Dennis).

This song-and-dance show includes 24 Elvis Presley songs, such as: "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Can't Help Falling in Love," "Jailhouse Rock," "Devil in Disguise," "It's Now or Never," and "Blue Suede Shoes."
